2. Data Processing Principles

Spin Deck Studio is a fully local macOS application. The app does not transmit any data to servers operated by us or third parties. All processing takes place exclusively on the user's Mac.

No personal data is collected, stored, transmitted, or sold.

3. What Data Is Processed Locally?

Spin Deck Studio processes only data provided by the user to use the app's core features:

• Audio files: Music files loaded by the user (MP3, WAV, AIFF, M4A, etc.) are read locally to generate waveform visualizations and create video exports. These files never leave the device.
• Metadata: Artist name, title, remixer, and release date entered manually by the user are stored locally in the app's project database.
• Cover artwork: Image files imported by the user are processed locally as part of a project and may be embedded in exported videos.
• Custom background images and logo files: Images imported by the user as a custom background style or as a logo are processed and stored locally as part of the project. These files never leave the device.
• Project data: All settings, configurations, and projects (SpinDeck Library) are stored locally in the app's container on the user's Mac (~/Library/Application Support).
• Exported videos: MP4 video files created by the user are saved at the location chosen by the user on the local device.

4. No Data Transmission to Third Parties

Spin Deck Studio does not transmit any user data to external servers, services, or third parties. The app does not require an active internet connection for its core features. All integrated assets (fonts, effects, rendering engine) are fully bundled offline within the app.

5. Fonts

The 30 typefaces (Google Fonts) included in Spin Deck Studio are fully bundled locally within the app and are loaded without a network connection. There is no communication with Google servers or other third-party servers for loading fonts. All fonts are licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 (OFL 1.1).

If the user selects a font via the System Font Picker, the app reads that font file locally from the user's Mac (via macOS NSFontPanel) solely to render text in the preview and in exported videos. No font files or font metadata are transmitted to any server.

6. App Store

Spin Deck Studio is purchased and downloaded via the Mac App Store by Apple. Apple's privacy policy applies to this transaction. Pondstack Software does not receive any payment data, Apple IDs, or personal customer data from Apple. Apple processes transaction data in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy: apple.com/legal/privacy

7. Diagnostic Data and Crash Reports

If the user has consented in their macOS system settings to share diagnostic data and crash reports with Apple, anonymized crash reports may be transmitted to the developer via Apple when the app crashes. This occurs within Apple's privacy framework and is entirely within the user's control. In this case, Pondstack Software receives technical crash logs without reference to any specific person.

The user can disable the sharing of diagnostic data at any time in macOS System Settings under Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

8. No User Tracking

Spin Deck Studio contains no tracking technologies, analytics SDKs, advertising libraries, or similar instruments for behavioral monitoring. No user profiles are created.

9. Permissions

Spin Deck Studio may request the following permissions on the user's Mac:

• File access: Required to load audio files and images and to save exported videos. Access is restricted exclusively to files and folders explicitly selected by the user.
• Write access: Required to save exported MP4 video files at the desired storage location.

All permissions are managed by the macOS operating system and can be restricted or revoked in System Settings under Privacy & Security.

10. Rights of Data Subjects

Since Pondstack Software does not collect or process personal data during normal use of the app, the typical GDPR rights of access and erasure primarily relate to data stored on the user's own device — i.e., the user themselves.

However, if personal data is collected through email communication (e.g., a support request), you have the following rights under the GDPR:

• Right of access to stored data (Art. 15 GDPR)
• Right to rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
• Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
• Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)

11. Right to Lodge a Complaint

12. Data Security

Since all data is stored exclusively on the user's device, the security of the data is the responsibility of the user. Pondstack Software recommends regular backups of the Mac and the use of macOS's built-in encryption mechanism FileVault.

13. Children

Spin Deck Studio is not specifically designed for children under 13. The app does not collect any user data, so there are no particular privacy risks for children.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This privacy policy may be updated in the event of significant changes to the app or legal requirements. The current version is always available at pondstack.com/spindeckstudio-privacy.
