2. Core Privacy Principle

Beat Motion Studio is an iOS app for creating beat-synchronized video mixes. All processing takes place exclusively on the user's device. Pondstack Software does not operate any servers to which user data is transmitted and receives no personal data from the app.

The app contains no telemetry, no analytics SDKs, and no third-party advertising libraries.

3. Data Processed Locally

Beat Motion Studio processes the following data exclusively on the user's device:

• Video clips: Videos selected by the user from the photo library are processed in memory for motion analysis and video editing. Original files are not modified.
• Audio / music tracks: The song selected by the user from the Apple Music library is processed locally for BPM detection and beat analysis.
• Project settings: Cut length, export duration, transition style, filters, effects, format, resolution, and text label configurations are stored locally via UserDefaults.
• Exported videos: Finished MP4 videos are saved to the camera roll (photo library) at the user's request.

4. Access to Photo Library and Camera Roll

Beat Motion Studio requires read access to the photo library to select videos for the mix, and write access to save the finished video mix to the camera roll.

• Video data is processed exclusively on-device and is not transmitted to external servers.
• Original videos are never modified.
• Access can be restricted or revoked at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Photos → Beat Motion Studio.

5. Access to Apple Music Library

To select a song for the video mix, Beat Motion Studio accesses the user's Apple Music library via Apple's MediaPlayer framework. This access is entirely local.

• Audio data is processed locally on-device for BPM and beat analysis.
• No audio data is transmitted to external servers.
• Access can be revoked in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Apple Music → Beat Motion Studio.

6. Instagram Sharing (Optional)

Beat Motion Studio offers the option to share finished videos directly as an Instagram Story or Instagram Reel. This feature uses Instagram's public URL scheme; no Instagram SDK or Meta Developer Portal integration is used.

• The video is temporarily placed (max. 5 minutes) in the UIPasteboard and passed to the Instagram app via URL scheme.
• The data transfer to Instagram is carried out solely by the Instagram app itself; Pondstack Software is not involved in this process.
• Instagram must be installed on the device to use this feature.
• Data processing by Instagram/Meta is governed by Meta's Privacy Policy.

7. Sharing via System Share Sheet (Optional)

Exported videos can be shared with any app via the iOS standard share dialog (UIActivityViewController), e.g. AirDrop, TikTok, WhatsApp, YouTube, or Mail. Pondstack Software has no influence over the data processing by the respective target app or service.

8. In-App Purchases (StoreKit 2)

Beat Motion Studio offers optional in-app purchases (Standard, Pro, Upgrade). Payment processing is handled exclusively by Apple StoreKit 2 and the Apple App Store. Pondstack Software does not receive any payment or credit card data from the user. Payment processing is handled solely by Apple in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy.

9. Diagnostics and Crash Reports

If the user has consented to share diagnostics with Apple in their iPhone settings, anonymized crash reports may be transmitted to the developer via Apple. Pondstack Software receives only technical crash logs without personal reference.

Users can disable this in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements at any time.

10. No User Tracking

Beat Motion Studio contains no tracking technologies, analytics SDKs, advertising libraries, or behavioral observation tools. No user profiles are created and no data is used for advertising purposes. This is declared in the app's PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy file submitted to Apple.

11. Permissions

Beat Motion Studio may request the following permissions on the user's iPhone:

• Photos (Read): Required to select videos from the media library.
• Photos (Write): Required to save the finished video mix to the camera roll.
• Apple Music / Media Library: Required to select a music track from the Apple Music library.

All permissions are managed by iOS and can be restricted or revoked in Settings under Privacy & Security.

12. Rights of Data Subjects

Since Pondstack Software does not collect or process personal data in the normal operation of the app, the typical GDPR rights apply primarily to data stored on the user's own device — i.e., the user themselves.

To the extent that personal data is collected through email communication (e.g. support requests), you have the right under the GDPR to:

• Access your stored data (Art. 15 GDPR)
• Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
• Erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
• Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
• Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
• Object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)

13. Right to Lodge a Complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for Pondstack Software is:

14. Data Security

Since all app data is processed and stored locally on the user's device, the user is responsible for its security. Pondstack Software recommends keeping iPhone screen lock and device encryption enabled and performing regular iCloud or computer backups.

15. Children

Beat Motion Studio is not specifically designed for children under 13. The app is rated 4+ in the App Store. Since Pondstack Software does not collect user data, there are no specific privacy risks for children from the app itself.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This privacy policy may be updated in the event of significant changes to the app or legal requirements. The current version is always available at pondstack.com/beatmotionstudio-privacy.
