Unzip the archive
Doppelklicke auf SlippyClean.zip im Downloads-Ordner. macOS entpackt die Datei automatisch und legt SlippyClean.app daneben ab.
Double-click SlippyClean.zip in your Downloads folder. macOS will automatically extract it and place SlippyClean.app next to it.

Ziehe SlippyClean.app in deinen Programme-Ordner (englisch: Applications). Das sorgt für eine saubere Installation und ermöglicht die korrekte Verwaltung durch macOS.
Drag SlippyClean.app into your Applications folder. This ensures a clean installation and allows macOS to manage the app correctly.

Öffne den Finder, klicke links auf „Programme" und ziehe die App dort hinein – oder benutze den Shortcut ⌘ + Shift + A, um direkt in den Programme-Ordner zu springen.

Voller Festplattenzugriff aktivieren
Grant Full Disk Access
SlippyClean benötigt den Vollen Festplattenzugriff, um alle relevanten Systemverzeichnisse analysieren zu können. Ohne diese Berechtigung sind mehrere Module stark eingeschränkt.
SlippyClean requires Full Disk Access to analyze all relevant system directories. Without this permission, several modules are significantly limited.

Voller Festplattenzugriff – Warum ist das nötig?
Full Disk Access – Why is this needed?
macOS schützt bestimmte Systemordner vor unberechtigtem Zugriff – auch durch Apps, die du selbst installiert hast. SlippyClean muss diese Ordner lesen können, um versteckte Caches, Logs, App-Reste und temporäre Dateien zu finden. Ohne die Berechtigung sieht die App diese Bereiche schlicht nicht.
macOS protects certain system folders from unauthorized access — even from apps you installed yourself. SlippyClean needs to read these folders to find hidden caches, logs, app leftovers, and temporary files. Without the permission, the app simply cannot see these areas.

SlippyClean überträgt keinerlei Daten ins Internet. Die Berechtigung wird ausschließlich für die lokale Analyse verwendet. Es gibt keine Telemetrie, kein Tracking und keine Cloud-Verbindung.

Konfigurationsdateien entfernen (optional)

SlippyClean hinterlässt nur minimale Konfigurationsdateien. Diese liegen typischerweise unter ~/Library/Preferences/ (Datei mit com.pondstack.slippyclean im Namen). Du kannst sie manuell löschen oder SlippyCleans eigene Deinstallationsfunktion im Modul App-Deinstallieren nutzen, bevor du die App entfernst.
SlippyClean leaves only minimal configuration files behind. These are typically found in ~/Library/Preferences/ (files with com.pondstack.slippyclean in the name). You can delete them manually or use SlippyClean's own uninstall module Uninstall Apps before removing the app.

Background Services
macOS nutzt sogenannte LaunchAgents und LaunchDaemons, um Hintergrundprozesse automatisch zu starten – zum Beispiel Update-Checker, Cloud-Sync-Dienste oder Menüleisten-Helper. Problem: Wird eine App deinstalliert, bleiben diese Dienste oft zurück. Sie werden bei jedem Systemstart geladen, verbrauchen Ressourcen und können Fehlermeldungen verursachen. In den macOS-Systemeinstellungen lassen sich diese Dienste nur deaktivieren – SlippyClean kann sie vollständig entfernen.
macOS uses LaunchAgents and LaunchDaemons to automatically start background processes — for example update checkers, cloud sync services, or menu bar helpers. The problem: when an app is uninstalled, these services often remain. They are loaded at every system start, consume resources, and can cause error messages. In macOS System Settings, these services can only be disabled — SlippyClean can remove them completely.

Als verwaist (orange markiert) werden Dienste bezeichnet, deren zugehörige App nicht mehr installiert ist. Diese sind in der Regel sicher zu entfernen. Apple-eigene Dienste (com.apple.*) werden niemals angezeigt.
Services are marked as orphaned (shown in orange) when their parent app is no longer installed. These are generally safe to remove. Apple's own services (com.apple.*) are never shown.
💡 Tipp: Nutze den Filter „Verwaist", um gezielt Dienste deinstallierter Apps zu finden. Bei aktiven Systemdiensten unbekannter Herkunft empfiehlt sich zunächst die Option „Deaktivieren" statt „Entfernen" – so bleibt ein Backup erhalten.
💡 Tip: Use the "Orphaned" filter to specifically find services from uninstalled apps. For active system services of unknown origin, it's best to use "Disable" rather than "Remove" first — this keeps a backup.

Sehr wahrscheinlich fehlt der Volle Festplattenzugriff. Gehe zu Systemeinstellungen → Datenschutz & Sicherheit → Voller Festplattenzugriff und stelle sicher, dass SlippyClean dort eingetragen und aktiviert ist. Starte die App danach neu.
Most likely Full Disk Access is missing. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access and make sure SlippyClean is listed and enabled. Restart the app afterwards.
Kann ich SlippyClean auf mehreren Macs nutzen?

Jedes Modul kann unabhängig aufgerufen werden – du musst kein Modul nutzen, das du nicht brauchst. SlippyClean löscht nie Dateien automatisch; jede Aktion erfordert eine manuelle Bestätigung deinerseits.
Each module can be used independently — you don't have to use any module you don't need. SlippyClean never deletes files automatically; every action requires manual confirmation from you.

Ab Version 2.3 prüft SlippyClean beim Start automatisch, ob eine neue Version verfügbar ist, und zeigt einen Banner direkt in der Sidebar an – du wirst also direkt in der App informiert. Updates werden auf pondstack.com/slippyclean veröffentlicht und können dort heruntergeladen werden.
